Manuel Romero-Vargas Gómez de Parada, Manny, was born in Mexico City in 1941. As a child he was fascinated with cars , and during his adolescence, he became interested in automotive mechanics.
In 1959, while working at the airport in Mexico City at Casa Ponce de León, a "In-flight catering" business owned by his uncle Fernando Gómez de Parada, he developed a passion for aviation.
At this time, Manny began to represent Universal Airlines, ONA, Charter Standard Airways and Saturn, and also coordinated and supervised ground support services to charter cargo companies such as Air Lift International and Zantop.o.
John Vaughan, General Manager of British Airways Mexico, appointed Manny as Station Manager in Mexico City, responsible for traffic and BA flight operations from Heathrow (London) to the International Mexico City Airport. These operations included Super VC-10s and Boeing 707-320s.
While working for British Airways, Manny met Tom G. Evans, founder and president of Universal Weather and Aviation, Inc. Mr. Evans recognized the potential business and corporate aviation market in Mexico, and invited Manny to represent his company in this city. In 1979, Tom and Manny founded Universal Aviation Services Company (UASCO).
After a period of restructuring, Manny founded Manny Aviation Services (Manny Aviation) in December 1997. Manny put his philosophy into practice: providing exceptional service and attention to even the smallest of details. His philosophy paid off.
In 2012, celebrating fifteen years of Manny Aviation Services, he received the recognition he deserved several times. Professional Pilot magazine, through its PRASE (Products Related to Aviation Services and Equipment) survey, evaluated and recognized Manny Aviation Services as the "Best FBO in Mexico" in 2002 and 2004; "Best ground handling company in Mexico" in 2005, 2006 and 2007; and from 2011 to 2013, "Best FBO Mexican Handler".
Manny has dedicated his life to serving others. With more than fifty years of experience in the aviation industry, his company has assisted some of the world's leading companies, as well as several presidents, prime ministers and royals from around the world.
